Welcome to Cameron Snapshots! We spent hours and hours crafting the perfect link experience. We are all having some issues with time, if you couldn’t tell by the recaps (or lack thereof). We’ll catch up as soon as winter break starts, so very soon. Go Blue Devils (and good luck with your own exams [unless you are a graduated adult with a job]!)! Continue reading →
What’s going on? Did I hear some reader demand for some…Snapshots? No, those are just the voices in my head. Oh well. Let’s do some Snapshots. We’ve got Kyrie’s friends and family, the final burial of Adolph Rupp, and the best idea the NCAA has had in years. Continue reading →
In a new feature here at Cameron Blues, we are doing vintage recaps of old Duke games as if they just happened. Today, we will discuss how Coach Krzyzewski beat Frank Martin’s Kansas State squad way back in twenty aught-ten for his 800th victory. The late, great commentator Dick Vitale was in fine form, baby, ably deconstructing freshman Duke guard Kyrie Irving’s breakout game. As you know, Irving absolutely outclassed his veteran counterpart Jacob Pullen in a slow pot roasting that left Frank Martin squirming. Unfortunately, when this game happened, circumstances beyond my control prevented me from writing a recap. First of all there was Thanksgiving, which happened just two days after the game. That prevented me from writing a recap. After that, there was a lot of homework and downtime, during which I didn’t do a recap. That also prevented me from writing a recap. But now, historically speaking, I look back on this period and laugh. Continue reading →
Today on Cameron Snapshots, Kyle Singler is learning Latin, Coach K is learning golf, and our football team is learning defense. Wait, no part of that is true! But it is true that Duke did a lot of good things in basketball, which is good because that is what we are known for.

The recap of the MSU game is almost done. But I need to watch this game, which is on in about half an hour! What a conundrum, this is. Anyway — here’s the last truly relevant game on our schedule until 2011. Will we win? Probably. But that doesn’t mean we can’t preview it with the best of them. Continue reading →
Sorry the recap is so late; an unfortunate side effect of being a Blue Devil is having a lot of schoolwork pretty much all the time. Luckily, there are many benefits that outweigh that particular cost, and one of them is victories in basketball like the one achieved last Saturday. Duke’s game against Oregon was, in short, a domination. Continue reading →
The minor sports (including football) have mostly picked up their gloves and sticks and goals and gone home, and the major sports (up to and including basketball) are really kicking into gear. It’s time for some Snapshots. Dick Vitale, baby. Tom Izzo, Coach K, actually entertaining college basketball games, baby, it’s all here at Cameron. Jump. Continue reading →
Well, we got through yet another undefeated November. Do we get a trophy for that? I don’t think so. But we get a trophy in my heart. And tonight, hopefully, the ACC gets a trophy in the hearts… of AMERICA. I don’t know what I’m talking about at the moment, honestly, but I’m on the back end of an all-nighter and stupid jokes seem very amusing right now. Continue reading →

We’ve been really busy, so it’s been hard (read: impossible) to get the K-State recap finished this past week. Daniel is going to do spot duty for the Oregon recap, which should be coming in the next few days — ideally I’ll just write the MSU recap directly after the game and post it after we get the K-State/Oregon caps up, but I don’t really know exactly how the time is gonna parse out for everything. I inexplicably have two of my finals this week (yes, a week and a half before classes end, my teachers are odd) and Alex has a ton of grad work over at U-Wis, so life is strange. Things should get back to normal on Friday. In the meanwhile, your weekly NBA update. Continue reading →
Who will win THE BATTLE ROYALE OF THE SINGLER CLAN?
Well, Kyle. But we have a preview anyway, because we love you. Continue reading →
This was significantly later than I expected I’d get to it — and it’s not a particularly stunning addition all the same. My excuse is that I’ve been in Greensboro celebrating thanksgiving, and though I was going to do it yesterday, I quickly realized I would “be punched in the face” for spending part of my thanksgiving writing a blog post. Live and learn, I guess? Like Grant Hill. Anyways, this one covers the week of November 16th to the 23rd, in case you were wondering. Continue reading →
We’ll get the KState recap up soon. I will go to the magical land of Norlinois in the province of Notsconsin this Thanksgiving, and Aaron will be doing some espionage work in Greensboro. Makes for a late recap. Happy Thanksgiving anyhow.

Here we are. The dream matchup that just about every neutral observer wanted to see. #1 vs #3. Easily the most interesting game played so far, at this early juncture of the season. And unluckily, for us? It’s essentially a road game. The Spirit Center is nominally a neutral site in Missouri, but Missouri is a big time Big 12 school, and there isn’t quite the institutionalized hatred for K-State that there is for the other large big 12 programs yet. So they’ve got a rather large home-fan advantage. Even if we’re the better team, I’d be lying if I said this game doesn’t look like a tough out. Let’s examine why. Continue reading →

The Blue Devils come perilously close to dropping a perfectly winnable game. Culprits? Poor defensive rotations and a somewhat inevitable letdown game from our bench mob. Mason gets the game ball with a career night — 25-12-3 with five blocks on 75% shooting? Absurd. Poor D, but when you put up numbers like that, you’re beasting. As for the big takeaway… we might have some troubles ahead. Click the jump. Continue reading →
